Ocean trash is all about you.
I don’t know about you but I love food. If you think about it, the whole world revolves around food and the culture it creates. Not to mention we need to eat to survive. The sad thing is, we have turned our food into poison. What happens when fish are consuming microplastics and then we eat them? We then have microplastics in our bodies. But it doesn’t stop there. A study was done in 2019 by the World Health Organization, they found that nearly every body of water contains microplastics. We are drinking it and so are our plants and livestock. Sure it sounds gross, but the reality is it has caused more than you can imagine. According to news-medical.net they have even found microplastics in the bloodstream and urine of most individuals. The toxins in plastic have been linked to cancer, immune deficiencies, birth defects, child development, and hormone function. Some say the world can no longer function without plastic because we are so dependent on it, but I’m optimistic.
